We are looking for Profiles in Leadership Nominees

Below is an e-mail that was sent out to all CALF alumni & friends.  We will recognize these recipients at the Annual Conference in November.  The Profiles in Leadership Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Hilton at Arden in Sacramento, CA.  Another great reason to attend the conference in November!

Profiles in Leadership

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?”
– Martin Luther King Jr.

In 1995 graduates of the California Agricultural Leadership Program, recognizing the exceptional contributions of their peers, created Profiles in Leadership.  The awards program is designed to acknowledge Ag Leadership graduates for their betterment of community, business, industry, government, education, and the environment.

Each year the awards are presented at the Fellows Council Annual Conference, an event designed to bring together alumni for fellowship and continued education.  It is an opportunity to reconnect to friends and colleagues, and at the same time acknowledge those amongst us who have made tremendous strides within their communities and industries.

If you know of a deserving Ag Leadership alumnus who should be recognized, please fill out the included nomination form and return it by Friday, October 2nd.  Nominations can be sent via email to nbell@agleaders.org, faxed to 916-928-2206 or mailed to the Foundation office at:

California Agricultural Leadership Foundation
Attn: Nicole Bell
1300 National Drive, Suite 180
Sacramento, CA 95834

Take a few moments to complete this form and help recognize those who truly embody the Ag Leadership spirit.

Nomination forms are due October 2nd.

You can also find a list of past recipients on the CALF website at http://www.agleaders.org

Conference Time!

The Fellows Council Conference Committee welcomes you all to our blog!  We will be posting updates about our upcoming conference on November 6th & 7th at the Hilton at Arden in Sacramento, CA.  The committee has just reviewed the second proof of the Conference Registration mailer and the “Save the Date” cards should have reached 1400 recipients last week.

Our Conference theme is: TRUST!  Earn It! Build It! Keep It!  We are inviting speakers from the business sector, media arena, and social communities. Keep checking in to see who we have coming to speak!

To cap our Conference there will be a fabulous Founders’ Celebration.  Come and join us for a wine tasting and silent auction reception followed by a “down home” cook-out with reflections of the past 40 years of the California Agriculture Leadership Program.  Plus recognition of those who have been instrumental in the success of CALF.  The evening will finish with a live auction with proceeds going to support the Foundation.

Again, Welcome!  And we will keep you posted!
