Do you remember visiting the NPR studios in DC on your national trip? We were able to get Joe Barr, News Director at Capital Public Radio in Sacramento. (http://www.capradio.org/programs/bios/biodetail.aspx?bioid=10) Joe is going to talk with us about the change in news & talk radio with all of the new media. Social networks have changed how they do business. He will also discuss the importance of finding credible voices in the sea of fast paced news!
Below is an e-mail that was sent out to all CALF alumni & friends. We will recognize these recipients at the Annual Conference in November. The Profiles in Leadership Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Hilton at Arden in Sacramento, CA. Another great reason to attend the conference in November!
The mayor will be joining us on Friday, November 6th for our conference and not as our closing speaker. We are looking forward to his presentation & truly appreciate his time!
I am excited to announce that Kevin Johnson, Mayor of Sacramento, will be our closing speaker at the Annual CALF Conference on November 7th! The conference committee has asked him to speak about gained the trust of a community when he was new to politics and how he is gaining trust as he moves forward with many new ideas for Sacramento.
For more information about Mayor Kevin Johnson you can go to his website – http://www.kevinjohnsonformayor.com/
His presentation will lead us right into our 40th Founders Celebration – where we will reminisce about the past 40 years, thank those who have helped us along the way, and celebrate the future of the California Agriculture Leadership Program.
Keep checking in as the program unfolds!
The Fellows Council Conference Committee welcomes you all to our blog! We will be posting updates about our upcoming conference on November 6th & 7th at the Hilton at Arden in Sacramento, CA. The committee has just reviewed the second proof of the Conference Registration mailer and the “Save the Date” cards should have reached 1400 recipients last week.
Our Conference theme is: TRUST! Earn It! Build It! Keep It! We are inviting speakers from the business sector, media arena, and social communities. Keep checking in to see who we have coming to speak!
To cap our Conference there will be a fabulous Founders’ Celebration. Come and join us for a wine tasting and silent auction reception followed by a “down home” cook-out with reflections of the past 40 years of the California Agriculture Leadership Program. Plus recognition of those who have been instrumental in the success of CALF. The evening will finish with a live auction with proceeds going to support the Foundation.
Again, Welcome! And we will keep you posted!
